From the rear photo of this 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, notice that the license plate holder is located low on the vehicle, in the rear bumper (as opposed to being located higher up on the trunk.) Also notice that the tail lights taper in toward the center of the vehicle, but do not wrap around to the sides of the car. This Malibu also has an antenna on the roof, just above the rear window.
The front of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu has a three section split front grill. The front headlights incorporate the front turn signals and wrap around the front corners of the vehicle.
This side photo of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu shows no fuel filler door on the drivers side and is in fact located on the passenger side. The rear "C" pillar is also very thick toward the trunk area. The rear side windows split into two pieces.
The rear 3/4 angle shows more clearly how the tail lights do not wrap around the side of the vehicle and how short the trunk section the car really is.
